Carrying of Firearms-Minnesota

In Minnesota it is unlawful to carry a pistol without a permit.[i] Chief of Police/County Sheriff is the permit issuing authority.  The applicant should be at lest 21 years of age, has training in safe use of pistol and is not prohibited from possessing a firearm.

The states that recognize Minnesota permits are Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont and Virginia.

Minnesota recognizes permits from Alaska, Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming.

A permit to carry a pistol expires five years after the date of issue. Cost of obtaining permit is $100 and cost for renewal of permit is #75.
